Dear Friends,

On behalf of Cardiovascular Research, it is our great pleasure to welcome you to Krakow, for “New Frontiers in Cardiovascular Research 2019”, our International Editor’s Symposium. We are very grateful that you have accepted our invitation and hope that the next two days will be productive and enjoyable for us all. As indicated by the title of our meeting, we hope that it will give us not only an opportunity to update you on how Cardiovascular Research has been developing, but also to discuss and identify new areas and topics of interest within the field of cardiovascular medicine. We have reserved time for discussion, and we would really appreciate hearing your opinions concerning where our field is now and where it is going. The discussions will be initiated by brief invited presentations which will outline the landscape of Cardiovascular Research from a variety of perspectives. These include those of the European Society of Cardiology; top Cardiovascular Journals; the American Heart Association, as well as European grant funding bodies. We are very grateful to our speakers for accepting our invitation and joining us here in Krakow.

We chose this location for our meeting, as it is not only of huge historical value as one of the oldest Universities in Europe, but also as Krakowis one of the most important historical, cultural and tourist centers of Poland that has rapidly developed over the past decade. It is one of the most vibrant cities in Central Europe. We hope that the locations of our meeting, where Nicolaus Copernicus and Karol Olszewski accomplished their seminal works, will inspire active and fruitful discussions.

We would like to extend a warm welcome to you and we hope you have a memorable time at our Symposium.
